In Ontario, psychotherapy records are generally retained for at least:

  • 10 years from the date of the last client contact

  • For minors, 10 years after the client reaches age 18

After the retention period, records are securely destroyed or permanently anonymized.

  • You have the right to request access to your personal information and personal health information, subject to limited legal exceptions.

  • You may also request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete information.

  • Requests should be submitted in writing to the contact person listed below.
